Different Club Types for Different Types of Customers
The OrderPort Wine Club management tools support multiple club types, enabling your winery to give customers multiple club options. All club types are included with the OrderPort club management tools.
Your website will include a description of the wine clubs you offer. Each available club description will include a link to OrderPort hosted pages where the customer can join the club. Below are examples for each club type with a club join link.
Case Clubs
When customers purchase a case of wine, they are added to the case club. Members do not receive scheduled releases. They receive discounts on wine purchases for 1 year and their membership renews when they purchase another case. OrderPort tracks their purchases and automatically renews their membership when the total equals a case. You and the customer are notified when their membership is expiring prompting the customer to purchase wine to maintain their membership and discounts. There is no Join Club step for case clubs. The clerk only needs to gather a first and last name, and email address when the original case is purchased so that the membership can be managed.
Club 1
Tiered Case Clubs
Tiered case clubs enable the winery to offer different benefits for multiple cases. For example, a customer that purchases one case might receive a 15% discount on the case and 15% off on subsequent purchases for 1 year. Customers that buy two cases might receive a 20% discount and customers that buy three cases might receive a 25% discount. Tiered case club memberships update once per year on January 1st. The purchases made by club members during the prior year are totaled and the customer is added to the appropriate club tier for 1 year.
Club 2
Winemaker Select Clubs
Customers that join a Winemaker Select club agree to receive scheduled releases. The winery defines the types of wines, bottle quantity and the number of releases for members. Orders for each release are paid for with a securely stored credit card on file. Customers can choose to pickup or have their orders shipped. Their membership benefits are recognized in tasting room and online purchases. The wines included in releases are selected by the winemaker.
Club 3
Customer Choice Club
Members of Customer Choice clubs can accept the wines chosen by the winemaker for a release or make substitutions or additions. The options available to customers can be restricted. For example, wines can be added but no substitutions. Some wines may not be available based on the membership type and allocations can be applied restricting the quantity available for purchase. Customers can make their choices in their account online. Modified orders are flagged as custom orders for order fulfillment.
Club 4
Subscription Clubs
Customers that want membership benefits with full control over when and what they buy can join a subscription club. Members are charged a fixed amount each month. The funds are held by the winery in a customer account. The customer can use their account for purchases anytime online or in the tasting room.
Club 5
Allocation Clubs
The OrderPort Allocation Club tools are currently in development with availability scheduled for the second quarter of 2021. Members of Allocation Clubs are invited to purchase during a scheduled release. Available inventory is allocated to member groups based on their membership status. Allocation quantities are set by wine. Customers can request additional allocations which are dependent on inventory availability at the end of the allocation release period. Customer purchases during the allocation period determine the order for when they are invited to purchase the next allocation. Customers to be included in allocation invitations.
